GOOD NEWS
Over the past few years we have been seeking formal support from Te Arawhiti (formerly The Office of Treaty Settlements). The process has been a drawn out affair, but there has always been underlying support due to few key individuals within government agencies.
Last night we received a letter stating that the government has formerly advised the Environment Court of their intention to join our mediation proceedings.
The Crown's joining is a positive outcome for the beneficial owners. The detail around how they intend to support has yet to be finalised but their mere attendance is symbolic.

This website has been developed by a group of concerned owners whose aim is to improve communication with all beneficial owners of the Hawea-Wanaka SILNA block of land.
Over a number of years many owners have been identified through succession via the Maori Land Courts to formalise a process to enable the transfer of this land to the owners and a "workgroup' was formed to aid this process.
From February 2014 the "workgroup" met consistently for 18 months preparing information for the owners to allow a few key decisions to be made, however meetings of the "workgroup" became less regular because the process identifying owners by the Maori Land Court was hindered due to a lack of funding.
We understand that a number of owners are frustrated with the process and flow of information hence the purpose of this website and the need for all beneficial owners to register above.
