Update for Hawea Wanaka - Silna
Kia ora Everyone,
Firstly apologies for tha lack of communication but over the past 6 months I have been unwell but now on the mend.
There has been recent progress with the land rezoning and collaboration with the Maori Land Court.
* Mediation for the rezoning is now scheduled for 29-30 March 2021.
* Neighbouring land owner has joined us at mediation with a view to providing access.
* Bike Wanaka’s request to join mediation in opposition to our rezoning was rejected by the environment court judge.
*Crown Law have joined our mediation and in support of resolving access and endorsing the history surrounding the Hawea and Wanaka block.
*Mike met yesterday with Telsa Buckley of MLC with a view to working to together as the MLC is keen to send a letter to all beneficiaries with plan to coordinating meetings and establishing a formal work group to represent owners.
*Mike is heading to Wanaka today to engage with neighbours, QLDC and consultants in preparation for mediation.
Please can you contact MLC with your contact details and encourage other beneficiaries to do the same because to progress the transfer of the land to the owners the judge requires a good representation of owners.
